Lamar Hardy, DO, FAAD, FCAP

Lamar Hardy, DO, FAAD, is a highly accomplished, triple board-certified dermatologist set to open Collo Rosso Dermatology in Chapin South Carolina. He is dedicated to supporting the local community that fostered his formative years. He holds board certifications in Micrographic Dermatological Surgery, Dermatopathology, and General Dermatology, and will offer full-time services after retiring from the Navy.

Lamar was raised in Chapin where he attended high school and developed his passion for medicine. He began his academic ventures in biology at The Citadel before serving as a pilot in the US Navy. Following a decorated naval aviation career, he resumed his academic studies where he earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. With his new degree, the Navy relocated Dr. Hardy and his family to a position in Sicily, Italy at Naval Air Station Sigonella. After an amazing time overseas, he moved to Southern California with his family and completed his dermatology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego; then followed by a Dermatopathology fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington D.C. He then returned to San Diego for advanced training in Mohs surgery under the renowned Dr. Bruce Feldman.

Today, Dr. Hardy is fulfilling his twilight tour after serving as the Chair of Dermatology at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Beyond this, he is an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and continues his involvement in academia. In his teaching, he spends time covering all aspects of dermatology, including Micrographic Dermatological Surgery, Dermatopathology as well as other procedural related services such as light and laser based medicine, Botox, chemical peels and injection of collagen based filler all the while maintaining general dermatology as the foundation of his daily practice.

Beyond the dermatoscope, Dr. Hardy is an avid cyclist and enjoys riding from the hills to the ocean. When not cycling, he spends time with his wife Jennifer, two kids Grace and Walter, and cheers for the home team in a divided house. Go Cocks!
